ADA, Okla. -- Ring in the new year like a resident of Kornfield Kounty during the annual Jae L. and Crossover “Hee Haw Variety Show,” a local year-end tradition filled with musical performances and comedic skits.
Entertainment begins 9 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 31, at the historic McSwain Theatre, 130 W. Main Street, and will continue until the year rolls over.
Like the original television variety show which spanned 25 seasons from 1969-1992, country music and rural living will be on full display, right down to the pigtails and overalls.
Tishia Agee -- as heard on 89.5 FM, KCNP radio -- will serve as master of ceremonies.
In a large showing from Ada, Donna Marie, Chandler Elliott and the groups A Servant’s Heart and Red River will all add their personal flair to country favorites during the show.
Other artists will make their way into Ada from across Oklahoma, including Pat Payne from Ringling, Will Clark from Collinsville, and Mike Deviney from Maysville. Anne Young will also make her way up from Murphy, Texas.
Some Kornfield Kounty characters are slated to make an appearance in familiar skits.
Jae L. said this New Year’s Eve event is good for everyone, from youngsters to elders.
“There are good memories linked to this show,” Jae L. said. “It’s a family fun night for anyone who would like to come ring in the new year.”
